This site is our family blog about sailing on our 1979 Westerly Centaur “Rosie Free”
Rosie has five crew members, Vicki (mum), Luke, Evie, Ian (me) and Coco (ship’s dog). She spends her time in the Norfolk Broads around Hickling and Horsey where we paint, clean, mend and sail her as a family.
Rosie Free was built in 1979, sail number 2403 she is one of the last of the 2440 Centaurs to be built. But she was not always called Rosie Free. Delving into a huge wedge of boaty paperwork turned up that she was originally called “Katrina of Chichester”
